- Nella Manon Lescaut, Puccini adotta la tecnica del fluire ininterrotto di musica e azione, eliminando la suddivisione in brani chiusi tipica del tempo.
- La sua ultima opera, la leggendaria Turandot, è rimasta incompiuta a causa della morte del compositore nel 1924.
- Puccini was a lazy and undisciplined student, a “falento” in the words of his teacher: a slacker without talent.
- In Manon Lescaut¸ Puccini starts to melt music and action as to never interrupt his scenes. This was against the typical structure of the Opera at the time which was divided in tracks.
- His last Opera, the legendary Turandot, was left unfinished when the composer died in 1924.
